Arrest made in fatal Caldwell County shooting

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Detectives in Caldwell County have arrested a Lenoir woman in a fatal shooting overnight Thursday.

Deputies found a person fatally shot at a home just outside Lenoir on Thursday afternoon.

The incident was reported at 4:18 p.m. on the 100 block of Tara Place, according to the news release from the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

Lenoir police and deputies from the Sheriff's Office found 20-year-old Dylan Joseph Short, of Hudson, fatally shot.

Nancy Benge Austin, 57, is charged with murder.

She is being held in the Caldwell County Detention Center under no bond.
