Viewpoint: Charitable Donations

We're always on the lookout for positive stories, and they're easy to find this time of year because of the good hearts of south Georgians.

In the past couple of weeks, we've told you about the Heart organization that gave shoes to kids at Jackson Heights Elementary School.  The school also collected clothes for students in need.

The One Warm Coat drive continues in Albany and 4-H students in Ben Hill County are collecting coats for people who need them too.

So many churches and civic groups are giving away food so families will have holiday meals, it's hard to count them.

We've shown you successful toy drives organized by concerned citizens in Tift County and Berrien County.  And of course, there's Toys for Tots.

This year's effort by Marines and the Salvation Army in Albany collected so many toys, they were able to give some to the Thomasville drive when it came up short.

All this generosity and goodwill makes us proud.  If you haven't joined in the giving, we encourage you to do so.

You'll make Christmas merrier for someone else, and you too.
