Dougherty EMS set the paperless pace years ago

Posted: Updated:
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County EMS leaders say their paperless system is working out well.

All Emergency Medical Services agencies in the state must be completely paperless by the end of this year.

But here in Dougherty County EMS has been using these laptops for patient care reports for 5 years.

They have 12 mobile laptops to use in their trucks and they can electronically upload reports.

The director says it saves close to $4,000 dollars a year. Rowe says they submit more than 14,000 reports electronically and have had very few problems.
