ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

As they enjoy a much needed day off, South Georgia retailers are gearing up for another big day on Thursday.

Many retailers depend on strong after-Christmas sales to ensure a good holiday shopping season.

Managers at Dillards in the Albany Mall say they expect big crowds.

They say lots of people will bring in items to exchange or return... But they hope many shoppers will also cash in on gift cards.

"We get returns, people swapping out merchandise, and we have a huge sale the day after Christmas. A lot of our men's stuff gets marked down. All of our trim a home, our Christmas stuff gets marked down so its kind of a big day for us," says Kevin Raible.

Managers say if you bring in an item to exchange or return, make sure you have a proof of purchase.
