Volunteers at the Albany Rescue Mission served up a Christmas meal to those in need today.
The mission on North Monroe Street is celebrating its 25th anniversary of helping the homeless and people in need.
Folks started gathering before noon for a church service and free meal.
Office Manager Christopher Alberto says they usually feed lunch to between 150 and 200 people. But the need is especially great during the holidays.
"Well I think for the most part, its just important to know that there is someone out in the community that does care," says office Manager Christopher Alberto.
The Rescue Mission serves an average of 9-thousand meals a month. They don't receive government support and depend solely on donations to keep operating.
