ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Rescue Mission received a helping hand from a fellow church ministry on Tuesday.

Folks on their way to receive a hot meal received a pleasant surprise when they were greeted with gifts. The Living a Believers Life ministry made sure to provide something for each and every person in attendance. A reminder to all that it is better to give than to receive this holiday season.

"We want to let the people know that we love them, it's Christmas time, it's time to celebrate Jesus, it's time to show kindness and love to your fellow man, so as a church we decided to come and give them presents," said Apostle Carolyn Whyms.

The Albany Rescue Mission operates as a shelter, thrift store, a kitchen for those in need, as well as a full service ministry.
