ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany mall is busy with people looking for some last minute gift items.

"I'm shopping for a little bit of everybody from my grandparents to my siblings. Just last minute stuff."

"I'm shopping for my sister Chloe Adaline Johnson," says Brianna Goodwin.

And they're buying a little bit of everything.

"Clothes and kitchen stuff and pants."

This year's shopping season was a little shorter than usually, giving people about one week less to finish their shopping, but some say its not unusual for them to wait till the last minute.

"Its usual for my family to wait until the last minute a lot."

The weekend before Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year for the Albany mall. Brianna Goodwin says she was surprised to see such a big crowd Saturday.

"Well its just everybody was crowded everywhere and I just couldn't walk and no space so I just felt claustrophobic a little bit," says Goodwin.

But she doesn't mind braving the crowds to find some good deals.

"Oh my gosh there is like 50 percent off everywhere, 60 percent off, it was really good," she says

Others say they would prefer to be at home.

"Its kind of hectic I don't really like coming out here, with this many people out here, its pretty busy, and pretty crowded."

The Albany mall will be open on Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. till 6 p.m.
