CLINTON, NC (WECT)-  Law enforcement officials are investigating a shooting in Sampson County, NC that put two men in the hospital Sunday.

According to the Sampson County Sheriff's Office, around 4:14 a.m. the Sampson County E-911 Center received a report of a shooting at 76 Kea Lane in Clinton, NC.

At the scene, deputies discovered that Rakeem Williams, 19, of Faison, NC and Corey Antoine Kirkland, 29, of Clinton had both been shot.

Deputies said that neither of the victims was able to give a suspect description of the individuals who may have shot them.  Investigators interviewed other witnesses during the morning hours in an attempt to identify the suspects. 

According to the sheriff's office, both of the victims were transported to the Sampson Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Law enforcement is asking that anyone with information on the shooting call the Sampson County Sheriff's Office at (910) 592-4141.
