District Attorney: Expect more pressure in meth fight

Posted: Updated:

The Dougherty District Attorney agrees with drug agents that methamphetamine is a fast growing drug issue in Albany, and he says his office will crack down on traffickers.

This week Kenley Grissom was indicted by the Grand Jury for trafficking meth among six other counts.

Prosecutors say he had 400 grams of meth when he was arrested in October, worth about $40,000 on the street.

D.A. Greg Edwards says this is one example of the increase of meth they see being sold in Albany.

"It's dangerous to the people making the meth," said Edwards. "It's dangerous to the neighborhood where the meth is being made. So these things are very serious, and we are going to be doing our best to deal with them."

The D.A. says Grissom most likely will be tried for trafficking meth in March.
