HOPKINSVILLE, KY (WSMV) -

Police say a family dispute in Christian County ended with a father shooting his own son to death.

Kyle Johnson, 33, got into a fight with his family at his home on Greenville Road in Hopkinsville Thursday night. He allegedly made threats to harm family members.

Police say Johnson came to his parents' house armed with a shotgun around 6:15 p.m.

When he tried to force his way in, police say Johnson's father shot him twice in the chest.

Johnson was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Police are still interviewing everyone involved and are collecting evidence to determine what led up to the shooting.

No arrests have been made at this time.
