ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Fire Department is investigating arson at a Dollar General store.

About 5:00 WEdnesday afternoon, someone set a fire inside the store in the 1500 block of Radium Springs Road.

Investigators say it wasn't a big fire, but it did create a lot of smoke. They say if it had grown, the fire could have hurt or killed people.

"From what we understand they used some of the materials in the store. Aerosol cans, and a lighter. Again, still even doing that it takes a little bit for some other products to ignite," said Albany Fire Chief James Carswell.

Fire investigators are going over surveillance video to see who set the fire.

If you have any information, call the state's Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. You could earn a reward.
