COLD CASE: Murder victim's sister fights for justice

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Many people who have lost loved ones have a tough time during the holidays, Lisa Valentino returned to Wilmington years after her sister disappeared.

She came to both remember her sister Allison Jackson Foy, and also help members of the CUE Center for Missing Persons search for two other missing people. Valentino says it's important to help and support the same people that helped her while she searched for her sister.

It's been more than seven years since her sister, Allison Jackson Foy, was last seen leaving a Wilmington pub, and more than five years since her remains were discovered buried next to the body of another woman, Angela Rothen.

"The more time that goes by, the more anxious we all get, but also the more determined, at least I get, to have justice served and to find out who did this," said Valentino. She says that her sister's death is especially hard to deal with during the holidays.

"Someone is not here that used to be, and a lot of things remind me of her, putting up the tree, hanging the ornaments, our Christmas toast, all things that she would have been there for," recalled Valentino. "Going shopping with her, all those things that sister's do, it's definitely hard."

Even though years have gone by, she's never stopped fighting for justice or searching for her sister's killer and believes someone in Wilmington knows something.

"This is still very real and happening and we need answers because we believe someone in this area has not come forward with information that could seal the deal and give us justice," said Valentino. She's begging anyone who knows anything to come forward.

Valentino says she believes an arrest isn't too far away. "I would like to think, sometime relatively soon we will have an arrest," explained Valentino. Giving her family, and Allison the justice they've been waiting for.

Allison Jackson Foy was last seen leaving Junction Pub and Billiards in July of 2006. Her remains were found in 2008 along Carolina Beach Road. Anyone who knows anything is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department.
