Ben Hill Hospital authority sues Phoebe Putney for pulling out of agreement
FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -
The Ben Hill County Hospital Authority is suing Phoebe Putney Hospital for pulling out of an agreement to manage Dorminy Medical Center.
Friday, Phoebe officials indicated the decision to dissolve the management agreement was mutual. But the Hospital Authority that owns Dorminy Medical Center filed a breach of contract lawsuit. It says Phoebe notified the authority last Wednesday of its intention to withdraw from the deal that began three years ago. The authority's attorney won't comment on the suit until Friday. Phoebe issued a statement this afternoon saying its first priority is to ensure a seamless transition for employees and continued quality patient care at Dorminy.
