LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man who stabbed his girlfriend's uncle during an argument was arrested on Tuesday, police said.
According to Louisville Metro Police, Tyrone A. Smith arrived at his girlfriend's home uninvited on September 19, 2012, and the two of them argued in front of the house. The woman asked Smith to leave, but he refused. Police said that's when the girlfriend's uncle, Tyrone Porter Sr., went outside and told Smith to leave the premises.
As the two of them argued, police said, Smith went to his vehicle and retrieved a three-inch hunting knife and began swinging it in Porter's direction. Porter's left forearm was severely cut. Smith left the scene on foot.
Smith, now 37, was arrested Tuesday morning in an alley behind the 3300 block of Grand Avenue. He is charged with first-degree assault.
