ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany officials, chamber of commerce representatives, and company managers were on hand Wednesday morning as the ribbon was cut to officially open Kauffman Tires' newest store.  It's located at 1018 Pine Avenue, and has seven employees at the store.

Kauffman Tire is opening new locations all across South Georgia which is creating new jobs. They teamed up with South Georgia Technical College to help them get a jump start on hiring new people in November.

The family owned business started in Atlanta 77 years ago, and has stores as far south as Tampa.  They're working to fill-in the gaps and are proud to bring their business to our area.

"We've got a pretty good presence in the Atlanta market. And we've got a great brand now. We want to come to smaller South Georgia towns and spread the family owned business," said Tom Money Executive Vice President/COO of Kauffman Tire.

Money says the company sees a growing economy, and Kauffman Tire plans to open locations in Cordele and Valdosta shortly after the New Year and they plan on hiring more folks by March. They also have their eye on locations in Tifton and Thomasville.

And one feature of Kauffman seems to be unique- they fix flat tires free, no matter where the tires were bought. Free flat repair applies to standard passenger and light truck tires 20" rim diameters and under.

Store hours are 8:00AM to 6:00PM Mon - Friday, 7:30AM to 5:00PM Saturday, and they're closed on Sunday.
