Aaryn Valenzuela began her journalism career in 2007 at KLST-TV in San Angelo, TX.
Although she's a Texan at heart, she moved to South Georgia to be closer to family. During her time at KLST, she worked as a producer, photographer, reporter, and eventually the Weekend Anchor.
She covered the wildfires of 2011, and the Hailey Dunn case, which made national headlines. She's interviewed long time Governor Rick Perry, former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who served during the Bush Administration, and philanthropist Ross Perot. She also worked in newspaper for a short time.
She grew up in San Antonio, TX, and attended college at Angelo State University in San Angelo. She graduated in 2006 with a B. A. in Journalism, and a minor in English.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and running, or riding her bike.
Aaryn looks forward to continuing her career at WALB-TV as the Weekend Anchor and reporter, and getting to know the area.
