ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany school is making sure families in need get clothes, jackets, and shoes this holiday season.

Jackson Heights Elementary school is hosting a 3-day clothing giveaway.   Valerie West organized the event.  Parents are allowed one item per child.

West says parents showed up bright and early this morning to see what they could get their little one.  "They were very appreciative of the items, because they were in need of some of the items. They were so grateful that we decided to have this drive," said West.

The giveaway will continue Wednesday and Thursday.  Donations are still being accepted. West says this is the first time they've held this drive and they plan to have it again next year.
