TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A Tifton church held a blood drive today in honor of a three-year-old girl battling leukemia.      Several people gave blood at Tifton Methodist Church.

The blood drive is sponsored by Georgia Home Health dedicated in honor of three-year-old Carley Jackson. Jackson is currently in remission for leukemia. During her treatment she took blood on a regular basis. Blood Drive officials say this is a way to show their support for Jackson.

"They are wanting to give back because they had so much support here from the local community. Her mother is a nurse here with Georgia Home Health and her business is the one that's actually sponsoring the blood drive today in her honor," said Shea Register.

Blood Drive officials say their goal is to collect 50 units of blood. Blood drives are held every third Tuesday of every month from noon to 6 p.m. at the Tifton Methodist Church.
