ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some Southwest Georgians plan to host a special holiday bash to raise money for higher education.

Saturday, the Darton Foundation will host a Jingle Bell Jam at Austin's Firegrill.  The event is sponsored by the Muscoloskeletal Associates and will feature groups like Highway 55, Kinchafoonee Cowboys and the Jodi Mann band.

Organizers say the cause supports Darton's scholarships and community programs.

"We just want everybody to come out and support the Darton College Foundation and our community and just come out and help and have a great time," Austin Newman, Restaurant Owner.

Newman said they plan to hold the event rain or shine.  He said they're expecting up to 1,500 people to come enjoy food and live music.

The gates open at 5-o'clock, Shows begin at six.  Advance tickets are on sale in Austin's Fire Grill for $10 until noon Saturday, otherwise they're $15 at the door.
