ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

It looks like southwest Georgia will be getting a white Christmas, but it won't be because of cool temperatures moving across the nation.

Friday, The Parks at Chehaw is welcoming Santa Clause with a snow making machine.

Organizers say artificial snow will blow into the air as Jolly old Saint-Nick arrives at the train station around 6:30pm, where kids can play in a giant snow pit.

It's the next part of the parks Festival of Lights, which opened last weekend.

"You know, one of the challenges out here is we want to have enough of the familiar that people can come back," said Doug Porter, Chehaw Executive Director.  "So everybody loves riding the train and coming out to see Santa Clause, but we want to throw in a few new wrinkles."

Porter said Santa will make his way to his workshop after his arrival, where he'll visit with kids and take photos.

The festival will continue every night until December 29th, with the exception of Christmas day.  Tickets are $15 per vehicle.  Chehaw members can get in for $12.
