VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

20 year old Damien Jamal Moore is behind bars in the Lowndes County jail after a botched armed robbery at a Valdosta residence Wednesday evening.

Around seven thirty last night, three friends were hanging out on the back porch of the home at 230 Bluepool drive.

Everything was just fine until a masked man knocked on the porch door, pulled out a gun, a demanded that the three people open the door.

"Officers got a call, 230 Bluepool Drive, in reference to an armed robbery," said Lt. Aaron Kirk with the Valdosta Police Department.

The man turned out to be 20 year-old Damien Jamal Moore.

One of the three people spoke with WALB off camera and said once Moore was inside, he pointed the gun at them and demanded their cell phones and money.

But the friends decided to give the gunman something else too...a fight.

"The victims had actually gotten into a physical altercation with the guy and were actually holding him," said Kirk.

During the fight, Moore's mask came off and that's when the victims recognized who he was.

The one person that spoke with WALB off camera said he was able to take the gun away from Moore while the other two people wrestled Moore to the ground and held him there until police arrived.

None of the victims were hurt in the robbery. Moore faces multiple charges, including three counts of felony armed robbery.
