ALBANY TECH 69, DARTON STATE 67
The battle for Albany bragging rights went to Albany Tech Wednesday as the Lady Titans held off Darton State for a two-point win at the HPER Gym.
The two teams gave each other their best shots in the back and forth affair.
In the end, ATC threw the last punch to win, 69-67.
The two teams will meet again February 12 at Cavalier Arena.
SOUTH GEORGIA STATE 56, ALBANY TECH 52
Loren Hall led the way for the Titans against South Georgia State, but it wasn't enough to beat the Hawks Wednesday.
Both teams struggled to score in the defensive battle, but JaVonte Spivey pushed the Hawks to a 56-52 victory.
Albany Tech is back in action Saturday at South Georgia Tech.
COLUMBUS STATE 56, ALBANY STATE 54
Robert Skinner's Lady Rams had a chance to win the game in the last possession, but Mecca Frost's desperation heave found iron, ending ASU's three-game winning streak.
The Lady Cougars forced a turnover, and former Randolph-Clay Lady Devil Asha Alexander hit a jumper from the elbow to give Columbus State the lead with less than 1:30 remaining.
Albany State is now 4-2 on the season. They travel to Miami to play St. Thomas next Monday.
