Lee killer gets life

Posted: Updated:
LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

A Lee Co. man is found guilty of felony murder and aggravated assault, and sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole Wednesday.

A Lee County jury deliberated less than an hour before reaching their guilty verdict against 38-year old Johnny Anthony Allen.

Allen was charged with shooting 48-year old Robert Patton October 19th, 2012 at the corner of Creekside and Knollwood Drive.

Investigators say Patton was trying to defend a woman from Allen when he was shot.

Reportedly the two were friends, who ate dinner together just hours before the shooting.
