Georgia State Patrol is helping bring holiday cheer to children this Christmas by helping Toys for Tots in their effort with a big delivery of toys.Troopers presented the toys to a Marine Corps representative Wednesday afternoon in a special pick-up at Georgia State Patrol Post #40.The toys were collected by Troopers from post #39 and #40 for this year's Toys for Tots Program. Community members donated a mix of toys and money to the effort.Marine Gunnery Sgt. Earnest Thompson accepted the donation of approximately 1,000 toys on behalf of Toys for Tots. He said the donation means the organization has now met their goal for 2013.Across Southwest Georgia, Toys for Tots will deliver toys to some 16,000 children for Christmas.This is the fifth year GSP has participated.
