Authorities resume search for missing man

LACEY'S SPRING, AL (WAFF) -

Crews in Morgan County resumed the search for a missing elderly man Wednesday morning.

Deputies are searching for 74-year-old Franklin Howard Payne. Relatives said he was last seen around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities said Payne suffers from dementia and is believed to be wearing a black coat, black pants, black dress shoes and a dark colored shirt.

A mobile command center was set up at the Lacey's Spring Fire Department to aid in the search for Payne. Deputies ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the sheriff's office at 256-301-1174.
