Hello,  I am Georgia State Representative Winfred Dukes.

The refusal to accept the 33-Million dollar Medicaid Expansion offered in the Affordable Health Care Act may be good politics for some, but it is poor public policy for others.

The Medicaid expansion can extend health care coverage to over 500,000 uninsured Georgians.

Of that number, 140,000 of them are our friends, neighbors, and relatives who live in rural Georgia.

It can create between 60 and 70 thousands new jobs, with an $8 Billion dollar yearly economic impact while costing the state less than .2 percent of the state's 2014 budget.

Good politics for some, poor policy for Georgia.
