COPY-Ambulance crash victim identified

ARLINGTON, GA (WALB) -

GSP troopers say a Miller County ambulance was traveling southbound on highway 45 headed to Miller County hospital when the driver tried to pass a fertilizer spreader, which was going north.  The spreader was making a left and collided with the ambulance.  Officials say the patient that was being transported, 84 year-old Leila Duvall died.  She was being taken to the hospital for flu-like symptoms. 

 

The driver of the ambulance was taken to Miller County hospital and treated for minor injuries.  The driver of the fertilizer spreader was not injured. 


Georgia State Patrol, Miller County and Early County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene.  The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is still investigating the crash.
