MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

WSFA 12 News partnered with the Montgomery Area Food Bank, Christmas Clearinghouse and Toys for Tots for 12's Day of Giving Friday and the event was once again a success.

So far we have collected $29,269, which surpasses our 2012 grand total of $29,147.

We are still counting toys and weighing food. The finals numbers will be announced Monday.

The mission of 12's Day of Giving is to help local families make the holidays special when they can't afford to otherwise.

WSFA 12 News had tents set up in front of the Walmart on Atlanta Highway from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday to accept donations of unused toys, non-perishable food and money.

If you couldn't make it to the event in Montgomery, you can still donate to each of the charities:

Donate to the Montgomery Area Food Bank

Donate to the Christmas Clearing House

Donate to Toys for Tots (Select "Direct My Gift to: AL-Montgomery")
