BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

As Auburn heads to the national championship game in Pasadena they'll be getting support from all across the state, including many Alabama football fans.

If you want a quick pulse check of the Alabama and Auburn fan bases post-BSC bowl announcement, a look inside the Bama Fever/Tiger Pride store can tell you a lot. The Auburn side is packed, the Alabama side all but empty.

Tiger fans are sweeping up as much championship merchandise as they can get, while Tide fans who expected to be the ones booking a ticket to Pasadena now have to ask themselves, can we support our rivals just for one game?

"Oh yeah, absolutely," said Justin Irvin, manager at the Hoover Bama Fever/Tiger Pride location and a lifelong Tide fan.

"Everyone talks about the SEC dominance, but especially when Auburn wins this one, let's forget about the SEC let's talk about the state of Alabama just owning the world right now," Irvin added.

Justin Irvin is a Bama fan who is happy to admit he's rooting for Auburn, of course that's also good for his business. But on our MyFoxAL.com Facebook page we found lots of fans without a business tie who agree.

"I am a tide fan....but we did not make the grade, Auburn beat us, they deserve the chance. Bring the crystal back to Alabama, proud of you," Barbara T. wrote.

Jamie B. posted, "I will always be a Bama fan but when Auburn is playing for the championship and representing our state I will proudly say War Eagle. Now bring home that Crystal Ball!"

"The title needs to stay in this state period. This is about SEC and state pride the crystal football has not left the state of Alabama in 4 years. That's never been done. Keep it in this state #rolltide" said Matt C.

"I'm an Alabama fan and I admit it. I'm happy for AUBURN," Tawna T. commented.

"Of course we're happy for them," Irvin said. "Deep down in most of our hearts, Bama fan or not, even though they're your rival, you wanna see a state school do well. And both being good just helps the rivalry."

Of course not everyone agrees.
