More rain today, but dry weather will return

Mother Nature just won't quit with the rain, as we're still seeing scattered showers today associated with an extension of the weather system that brought us rain for the last 6 days.  It's overcast out there, with highs only reaching the low 50s area-wide.  Rain could be heavy at times, but we're not expecting any widespread flood concerns.  Overnight, showers continue as temperatures dip into the 40s for all.

Tuesday, we'll start with cloudy skies and scattered rain.  Wind will pick up as we finally see the end of the soggy system, and skies will slowly begin to clear in the afternoon.  Temperatures will reach the upper 40s in Western NC, with middle 50s Upstate.  With clear skies, Tuesday night will bring cold temperatures back into our area with upper 20s to low 30s.

Wednesday through Friday:  Sunny skies stick around for the remainder of the work week, with below-average temperatures.  Highs reach the upper 40s to 50 Upstate, with mid-40s in the mountains.  Expect very cold nighttime lows in the 20s to low 30s through the week.

Next weekend our next chance for rain moves in, though right now it looks like the weekend will be split in half, wet weather on Saturday, drier air pushing in on Sunday.  Stay with FOX Carolina and for the latest.
