Bobby Smith, a fugitive from the Georgia Department of Corrections, has been captured.
Lee County Sheriff Reggie Rachals said he was found near Washington Street in Albany just before 9 a.m. Monday morning. Smith was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Task force without incident.
Smith was spotted in Lee county one week ago when a worker at the Oak Hill Dairy saw him inside of the farm's trailers.
Smith had been on the run since November 17th, when he did not return to the Albany Transitional center. Authorities say he was found within 500 yards of the Center Monday morning.
Bobby Smith, 58, was convicted of murder in Dekalb County in 1987.
