Pearson resident dies in head-on collision

The Georgia State Patrol says 72-year-old Robert Brown from Pearson died in a head-on collision along Highway 32 Saturday.

The wreck happened around 2:30 p.m. one mile from the Irwin County Line in West Coffee County.

Law enforcers say Brown was traveling in his Dodge Caravan when the driver of a Mercedes Compressor crossed into the westbound  lane and collided with the Caravan. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The GSP's specialized reconstruction team will be investigating the incident.  So far, no citations have been issued.  The driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Coffee Regional Medical Center.
