OCILLA, GA (WALB) -

Every high school football team has their fans, but Irwin County High School has a fan who has never missed a game, even if he was ill.

"We travel we go every game," said Denise Woods, Caleb's mother.

"I just like how they play and they inspire me to play football," said Caleb Woods, Irwin County High School fan.

Caleb Woods is a 6th grader who suffers from seasonal asthma, he hopes to one day be out here on this field, playing for Irwin County High School, Caleb says he doesn't let his seasonal asthma effect him from coming to the football games cheering on his favorite team, and he says he won't let it stop him from playing football on this field one day.

"He had pneumonia, he got out last night, we were just impress that they took time out to go to the hospital," said Denise Woods.

Caleb Woods is already gaining recognition from players on the team, as well as coaches.

Caleb was hospitalized this week after he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and while Caleb was in the hospital, three players as well as a coach from Irwin County visited him.

"Irwin County just surprised me, that they really care a lot about their students and the Irwin Indians care about their fans" said Denise Woods.

So much that they gave their number one fan a present, for all of his support this football season.

"They gave Caleb this little helmet, which is a replica of theirs, he was just beside his self," said Woods.

Coach Kerry Billingsley says that helmet Caleb now has, makes him officially part of the team, it will just take him a few years, before he can be out on the field.

"Absolutely one day we expect to see Caleb, out here on this field playing for the Indians one day," said Kerry Billingsley.

Caleb Woods and his mom Denise say they plan on attending the GHSA championship at the Georgia Dome if Irwin County Indians win Friday night.
