WALB wins GA Peanut Media Award

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Each year the Georgia Peanut Commission presents an award honoring a business and/or individual involved in the dissemination of peanut information and general publicity of peanuts through the media: radio, television, newspaper, etc.

Jamison Cruce who is in charge of the GA Peanut Farm Show announced the Georgia Peanut Commission board of directors and staff unanimously selected WALB-TV in Albany, Georgia, as this year's recipient of the Georgia Peanut Media Award.

Cruce said: "The media coverage that you have provided through your station has been very instrumental in dispensing vital peanut information to the growers and the public in South Georgia. You have always taken the initiative to cover a broad area of peanut topics that are important and you have always been accommodating of special needs."

This award will be presented during the annual Georgia Peanut Farm Show, scheduled for Thursday, January  16 at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.

Cruce said, "We appreciate the many courtesies and assistance that you have continually extend ed to the Commission, the peanut farmers, and the industry."
