CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Police have made a big break in the investigation of a series of violent armed robberies in Cordele.

Four young men are charged in the robbery, where one clerk was shot in the arm while another worker chased the robbers out with a machete. They are now in custody.

Police say they are still looking for more suspects.

The break came after another robbery Thursday. It's the fourth in one week for the city.

Cordele police say five people walked into Ken's Pecans on 7th street about 4:30 Thursday afternoon with a large knife and demanded money.

Officials say the suspects walked out of the store with the whole cash register.

Police later arrested three people for that robbery.

Christopher Felder, 18, Alfred Ford Jr., 20, and Shaquille Jeffrey, 18, are charged with armed robbery in connection to the incident at Ken's Pecans.

Felder and Ford, Along with 17-year old Montrell Clayton and 18-year old Raheem Montford, are also charged with robbing the Your Supermarket on West 16th Street Monday night.

Police are still searching for 20-year old Demetrius Ford and 18-year old Gregory Ross.
