ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Election workers at precincts in Albany's Ward 2 weren't very busy Tuesday.

Only 7.2% of the registered voters in the ward cast ballots in the runoff won by Bobby Coleman over Commissioner Ivey Hines. But those voters who did show up at the polls say it's always important to vote.

Sharon Hall said, "It's very important for people to get out and vote, so that their voices can be heard in order for us to make a change." Alvin Lamar said,"If you want to get something done, you put the right people in, so that's why I'm out here voting this afternoon, to try to get things right."

Back in the general election on November 5th, nearly 14% of eligible voters in Albany cast ballots.
