ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The city of Albany honors a women's group for 30-years of community service.      Mayor Dorothy Hubbard signed a proclamation declaring Friday Links Incorporated Day.

The local chapter gives a scholarship to an Albany State student each year. They also partner with elementary schools and even helped bring the Atlanta Opera to Albany.

"It feels great, it says that we are recognizing the work of the organization, that we appreciate the work they have done in this community and we are encouraging them to continue to do the work because there are still needs out there," said Mayor Dorothy Hubbard.

The proclamation will officially be presented to members of the organization Friday evening at the organization's Gala.
