LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Lee County Sheriff's Officials are asking people in North Lee County to keep watch for an escaped convicted murderer, who was spotted in the area Monday.

Dozens of State and Lee County law enforcement officials spent at least 17 hours searching for Bobby Smith, 58, who did not return to the Albany Transitional Center from his job on November 17th.

OnMonday morning workers at the Oak Hill Dairy saw a man in one of the farm's trailers, and when they asked him who he was, he told them he was Bobby Smith.

The massive search came up empty, but deputies want people to keep their eyes open for him.

Bobby Smith was convicted of murder in Dekalb County in 1987.He is 5'8" and 220 pounds, and is believed to be wearing a brown jacket with a backpack.

If you have any information, call the Lee County Sheriff's Office at 759-6012.
