Firefighters are working to figure out what caused a blaze that severely damaged a large home in Baconton tonight.
They responded to a fire on Lester Road quickly and were able to save it, though the east side of the home was destroyed and there's heavy damage in the living room.
"Well it's just a sad situation for the family, they've lost a lot of stuff, thank goodness they didn't lose everything," said David Forrester, Fire Chief, Baconton Fire Department.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross is helping the family.
