Albany Police invites community to join for Thanksgiving dinner

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police Department wants to bring the community together next week to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Albany Police will host their third annual Thanksgiving dinner Tuesday at the Albany Civic Center.

All the food needed for the meal of thanksgiving was donated, and the police department and volunteers are hosting. They invite you to come.

Last year more than 500 people took part in the Thanksgiving meal, and the family protection unit is hoping for more this year.

Investigator Kawaski Barnes said "We're looking for just everybody to come out. There is no need for anybody in the city of Albany to cook dinner on Thursday night. Because we are going to have plenty of food. Join us, fellowship, and eat up, because we don't like leftovers."

The Dinner will begin at 5 PM next Tuesday at the Civic Center.
