Fatherhood Program offers 'Second Chance' workshop

DUBLIN, GA (WALB) -

The Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Child Support Services Fatherhood Program in Dublin will sponsor a Second Chance workshop on Monday, Nov. 25.

The purpose of the event is to educate non-custodial parents with criminal backgrounds about the proper procedure for expungement, if applicable, educate employers about incentives to hiring those with criminal records and motivate those with this barrier to employment.

A representative from the Georgia Crime Information Center will provide an informational session on the expungement process.  There will be additional speakers who will provide information and suggestions on re-entering the workforce.

The workshop will be held at the Laurens County Library Auditorium located at 801 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021.  The event is free and open to the public.

To register for the event, contact Pamela Fuller, Fatherhood Agent at (478) 296-6126 or pafuller@dhr.state.ga.us .

The Fatherhood Program is a voluntary program offered by the Division of Child Support Services.  The goal of the program is to enable non-custodial parents to become fully employed at a living wage which will enable them to live and pay their child support.
