Mistletoe Market is back in Albany

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Employees at the Albany Civic Center have been working around the clock, getting all the decorations and vendor booths ready for the arts and crafts show, Mistletoe Market. And with over 88 booths and months of planning, Albany Civic Center Director Suzanne Davis hopes it brings people out.

"Just frequent the booths and the vendors that are here, they have put a lot of time and effort into it and its really great to support your local community," Davis said.

For mistletoe coordinator Terri Burrell its a way to connect.

"We really don't get to see what our neighbors are doing and you might come in and see your next door neighbor makes quills, beautiful quills which will be here," Burrell said.

Every item will be homemade from scarves and clothes to jewelry, those involved feel the market will allow local artisans to showcase their talent.

"It's an eye opening experience to see how many people in Albany, Georgia do these kinds of things on the side."

Burrell says visitors will be able to find crafts that you wouldn't find anywhere else and with the Cancer Society in attendance you can shop and support a good cause.

The show continues Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
