WALB CrimeSTOPPERS Street Sweep: What you need to know

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

WALB News 10 will team up with CRIME STOPPERS and area law enforcement agencies Today to get most wanted fugitives off our streets.

But viewers will play the biggest part in this crime fighting effort.  

During First News At 5:00 and WALB News Ten at 6:00, our first CRIME STOPPERS STREET SWEEP will be headquartered right here in our newsroom. It's your chance to get the 25 most wanted fugitives off the streets.

Here's what you can do to help:

  • Call in your tips at (229) 446-9252.
  • Be sure to note the # of the fugitive seen on TV that you are talking about when you call.
  • You could earn a reward with your call! People who call with helpful information can get a reward of up to $1,000.
  • WALB will be receiving many calls from 5:00 to 6:30, so if your call doesn't get through the first time, please call again.

The goal of the WALB CrimeSTOPPERS Street Sweep is to get some of South Georgia's Most Wanted criminals off the streets.

    Despite the scattered showers, we saw Saturday some people just couldn't resist hitting the water. In the morning, the Kinchafoonee Creek was at a good water level for boaters.
