MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Many big retailers are already advertising big Black Friday sales and some plan to be open on Thanksgiving.

They'll be joined by some smaller retailers in Moultrie.

Some downtown merchants will be open Thanksgiving night for the community celebration to turn on the city's Christmas lights.

They say they'll begin their Black Friday sales then.

There are a few hot items, but the idea is to attract people to support local economy.

"Denim is always huge, a great gift for Christmas, we always sell lots of denim on Black Friday. So, tons of gift items great prices you can just always find your specialty items in your local stores," said Jenna Alderman Co-owner of Coco's Boutique

The sales will begin at some stores as early as 4 on Thanksgiving afternoon.

If you miss Black Friday, you will still be able to find great deals at the local stores as the shopping season continues.
