ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A south Georgia country band didn't let thieves stop them from shining. Earlier this year, crooks stole all of Highway 55's equipment.

They eventually got it back when it was dropped off in some woods. Since then, the band has won 5 awards including Georgia Country Awards band of the year, Georgia Music Awards band of the year, and IMA awards country band of the year.

"Our instruments are our life if we don't have them we can't perform that's how we make money, that's our living, we were very blessed with some great people that helped get the word out," said Cody Smith, band member.

The band will perform at Coach's Sports Bar in Albany tomorrow night.
