DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

The city of Douglas is getting ready for the Christmas season.

Downtown Douglas will host a Holiday Open House Sunday to give shoppers a sneak peak of gift items.

Merchants and vendors will have sales, and shoppers can enjoy music and refreshments. Merchants say it's a great way to bring the city together.

"It's always the Sunday before thanksgiving and people sort of put it on their calendar and they came ready to shop and spend some money," said John Glosson, J&D Design.

"It's to bring everyone to downtown Douglas to see the excitement that goes on down here and everything that we do to bring the holiday spirit to everyone's Christmas," said Sheila Hughes, Kribs and Kradles.

Holiday Open House is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Sunday in downtown Douglas.
