Candidates for Barry Mask's House seat hold first forum

WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

Candidates running for the vacant District 31 seat once occupied by State Representative Barry Mask met Wednesday in Wetumpka in their first forum.

The candidates explained their platforms to one of the district's biggest political forces, members of the Alabama Retired State Employee's Association.

The four candidates held the public forum, which allowed for general discussion and questions from those in the audience.

The candidates are Frank Bertarelli, Jimmy Collier, Michael Griggs and Mike Holmes.

Mask resigned in September to focus on a new position, that of CEO of the Alabama Realtors.

District 31 includes Elmore and Coosa counties. Governor Robert Bentley has set a special election date for Tuesday, December 3.
