GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

No one was injured in a Gwinnett County house fire Wednesday morning.

Homeowners called 911 when a smoke detector alerted them to the fire in the 6100 block of Cumming Highway

All family members fled the home and around 6:15 a.m., firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the detached garage.

Due to the wind conditions, the fire traveled from the garage to the main house.

Crews contained the fire to the two-story home on a basement. The residence has storage buildings and structures around it that were protected by firefighters from fire damage.

There was no report of any injuries. The family of two adults and teenagers will be displaced and will not be needing Red Cross assistance.

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
