SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Tis the season for holiday hiring, and it's not too late to apply for seasonal jobs around the area.

There were nearly 500,000 jobs available in the U.S. at the start of the holiday hiring season in October.

According to CNN, there are ten companies that are bringing in the most seasonal workers, starting with Macy's. The retail giant created 83,000 jobs nation-wide heading into Winter.

Target came in at a close second with 73,000 followed by Amazon, Walmart, UPS, Kohl's, Toy "R" Us, JCPenney, FedEx and GameStop.

While some of these retailers have filled all vacancies, others including Target on Victory Drive are still on the look-out for the extra help.

"We still have about 30 positions available at the store," said Target Team Leader, Georgienne Edrington. "We are looking in a lot of different areas of the store and a lot of different times. So, we can pretty much fit any kind of availability that you have," she added.

The retailer, like many others, is hiring for a variety of positions, from logistics workers to cashiers, to sale floor employees.

Other companies like Kohl's in Savannah are also still accepting applications. A spokesperson for the retailer says the Savannah store opened 40 sales associate positions at the start of the season and has not yet filled them all.

To apply for openings, managers ask that you either visit the store of go to their websites:
