ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Someone set up a Twitter account claiming to be a Congressman from south Georgia, and it's snookering a lot of people who should know better.

Representative Steve Smith is supposedly a Tea Party Republican from Valdosta representing Georgia's 15th District. Well, there isn't a 15th District in Georgia or a Congressman Steve Smith.

He's got more than 4500 Twitter followers, and many don't get the sarcasm.

Even some journalists, including CNN's Christiane Amanpour and a couple of MSNBC contributors, have responded to his tweets, some of which are pretty outlandish.

For instance, Tuesday, he posted that he supports Toronto's troubled mayor for Prime Minister of Canada.
